For years Isabella Rossellini worked as chief model for Lancôme, while at the same time establishing herself as a movie actress. Famous especially for an explicit role in Blue Velvet by David Lynch. No less notorious her role in Lynch‘s Wild at Heart. It probably took even more courage to act in her latest production, the Dutch-American film Left Luggage, in which Isabella plays a Jewish-Orthodox mother in Antwerp. This portrait follows her all around Europe. She loves working – but other than her famous mother Ingrid Bergman – she is not dependent on acting:

"My mother loved acting more than anything. She was very very shy and I think she felt great release from this constant sense of embarrassment when she could become somebody else. I´m not so shy, so actually acting for me is not as important as it was for my mother”.
